Greg Flowers

With over 40 years of experience in snow sports development, Greg Flowers is a cornerstone of the Michigan competitive community. From Recognizing the need for a youth-focused competition circuit, in 2004 Greg co-created the Bonehead Boardercross Series alongside Joel Bredow. This initiative served as the catalyst for what would become the Michigan High School Snowboard Association (MHSSA). co-founding alongside a dedicated team including Bill Snyder, Jack Pippin, Laura Davis and Mo Shorr, establishing a formal competitive landscape for student-athletes across Michigan.
His current role as Head Technical Supervisor for the USASA National Championships, Greg has dedicated his career to building a professional pipeline for young athletes. He has been a USASA Series director since the 2002-2003 Season, bringing a competitive edge to the great lakes community.
In 2025, he founded the Great Lakes Snowsports Foundation to ensure that every local freeskier and snowboarder has a clear path from their home hill to the Olympic stage. Greg’s leadership is fueled by a commitment to safety, technical excellence, and fostering a lifelong love for snow sports. Greg embodies the USASA core values of excellence, respect, and fun.

With over 3 decades of experience supporting the growth of snowsports in the Midwest, Bill Snyder has played a key role in building sustainable pathways for youth athletes and developing the broader snowsports community. As a co-founder of the Michigan High School Snowboard Association, Bill helped establish a formal and enduring competitive structure for student athletes across Michigan. He contributed to creating opportunities that connected local participation with higher level competition and long term athlete development.
Bill’s involvement in Midwest snowsports extends beyond competition, with a strong focus on education, mentorship, and professional standards. His work consistently reflects a belief that well trained instructors, coaches, and officials are essential to the health of the sport and the experience of every participant. This philosophy closely aligns with the PSIA/AASI vision to inspire a lifelong passion for snowsports through education and certification, while strengthening Midwest snowsports professionals and the industry as a whole.
Driven by a commitment to safety, progression, and inclusivity, Bill continues to advocate for clear development pathways that serve both athletes and professionals. His leadership emphasizes technical excellence, community collaboration, and fostering a lifelong love of snowsports at every level.

Walter Collins

With a lifelong passion for snow sports and a strong foundation in leadership, Walter brings both on-hill experience and strategic insight to the snow sports community; Walter is trusted within the snowboard community. He is currently a USASA and USSA certified snowboard official.
Before officiating, Walter served as an alpine ski coach and a PSIA/AASI certified Level 1 snowboard instructor, giving him a strong appreciation for athlete development, progression, and the challenges faced on course. Walter has supported athletes, coaches, and events at varying levels, always with a focus on fairness, safety, and fun.
That background combined with his professional career, supported by an MBA in Integrative Management, allows him to help organizations grow in a sustainable, community-focused way which shapes his approach as a Board Advisor where he helps strengthen programs, support volunteers, and build positive pathways for young riders.
As Board Advisor, he contributes guidance on governance, financial stewardship, partnerships, and long-term planning to help strengthen and expand the foundation’s impact.
Walter’s leadership is grounded in collaboration, respect, and a genuine love for the sport. He is committed to building pathways that support young riders, empower volunteers, and ensure the snow sports community continues to grow by keeping competition accessible, well-run, and enjoyable for everyone involved.
